
Walter Hawkins Died At 61 – Walter Hawkins died on Sunday. He was a Grammy Award winning gospel singer and pastor from Oakland. The 61-year-old pastor suffered from pancreatic cancer and died at home in Ripon.
He was born in Oakland. He studied for his divinity degree at the California University, Berkeley. He also recorded his first album “Do your Best” when he was at university in the year 1972. In 1980, he recorded a number of albums and earned nine Grammy Awards nominations. In the same year, he won the Grammy Award for his album “The Lord’s Prayer”.
